LIGHTING CONTROLS ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL ENGINEER)

Lighting Environments and Environments is looking to hire a Lighting Controls (Electrical) Engineer to join our growing team in the Baltimore-Metropolitan area! 

 

This position is responsible for supporting the Controls Department and providing control system layout services to the inside and outsides sales teams, as well as the lighting specification community within the defined territory. The Lighting Controls Engineer is the technical expert, supporting various departments within the company and our distribution and specific customer base. Additionally, this position will:

  • Provide controls systems layout and specification services and advice. 

  • Perform bid “takeoffs” and quotations for lighting control projects. 

  • Assist on sales calls to Architectural and Engineering firms, as required.

  • Represent the company in a positive and professional manner. 

 

We are looking for an electrical engineer who:

  • Understands controls systems and products Lighting Environments represents. Training will be provided. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate to internal and external customers. 

  • Ability to read blueprints/drawings and interpret lighting structures. 

  • Highly detail oriented, with excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

  • Self-starter, good judgement, discipline, dependability and responsibility.

  • Agile and adaptable. 

 

Additional Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Technology or Architectural Engineering. 

  • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in engineering and design of lighting controls systems.

  • Knowledge of electrical codes as they apply to lighting and lighting control systems required.

  • Experience using Computer Aided Design and Drafting software (AutoCAD, MicroStation) required.  Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM – Autodesk Revit) experience is a plus!

  • Proficient Experience with Microsoft Office programs.
